Functional prototypes

Physical parts for fit checks, assembly trials, design iteration, and hands-on evaluation before committing to a larger production method.

Jigs & fixtures

Simple positioning, assembly, inspection, and light-duty aids shaped around a defined task.

Replacement parts

Authorized recreation of non-safety-related covers, protective housings, knobs, spacers, brackets, and similar plastic parts.

Pilot-first short runs with the file, material, quantity, and acceptance checks agreed before repeat work.

A clear path from problem to part.

  1. Share the application

    Send a STEP, parametric CAD, or STL file when available, or begin with clear photos and basic dimensions. Include the quantity, deadline, and intended use.

  2. Review and quote

    We review the application, confirm the assumptions, and provide a clear quote covering design support, setup, material, and production.

  3. Approve a pilot

    When fit or function matters, start with a pilot part and agree on the acceptance criteria before scaling the quantity. Most pilots are quoted normally; qualified first-time projects may be eligible for the Field-Proven Prototype Program.

  4. Schedule production

    Repeat work is scheduled only after the file, material, quantity, timing, and agreed checks are recorded for the job.

FDM strength and flexibility. Resin detail when it matters.

Material and process selection follows the actual environment and function of the part. Final suitability is confirmed during the application review.

PETG / PETG-CF

PETG is the primary FDM option for durable general-purpose parts. It offers good impact toughness, low warping, weather and moisture resistance, and some give before failure. PETG-CF is stiffer, holds dimensions more firmly, and flexes substantially less.

Best for
Brackets, housings, fixtures, organizers, and suitable indoor or outdoor functional parts
Important limit
Printed parts are not automatically watertight. Outdoor, UV, chemical, and liquid exposure are reviewed against the exact filament, geometry, and intended use.

PLA variants

Fast, clean prototypes, models, organizers, and fixtures with crisp geometry.

Fit checks, visual models, and rapid iteration
Detail
Fine-feature FDM options for suitable compact parts and small geometry

TPU / TPU-GF

TPU is the flexible option for pads, grips, bumpers, and compliant interfaces. TPU-GF is a firmer option that flexes less and retains its shape better when the application calls for it.

Best for
Pads, grips, bumpers, compliant interfaces, and firmer flexible parts where temperature resistance matters.
Difference
Choose TPU for more flexibility; choose TPU-GF when the part needs less movement and better shape retention at elevated temperatures.

Resin options

ABS-like, precision, and tough resin options are available for compact parts. Precision grades favor fine details; tough grades are considered when the part needs more give.

Best for
Compact functional parts, fine details, and small geometry
Important limit
Resin names describe material families; they do not mean the printed part equals molded ABS or another production plastic.

Some parts should not be 3D printed by a small job shop.

Spark & Spool Co does not accept safety-critical, medical, weapon-related, pressure-containing, vehicle lifting, braking, steering, restraint, or similarly failure-critical applications. If the intended use is unclear, we will ask before quoting.
